Our Mission

The mission of the UHS Counseling program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the academic, college and career, and personal, social, emotional development of all students. The UHS Counselors advocate for an environment that supports all students, helping them achieve their full potential along with a balanced high school experience.

Counselors develop and implement a comprehensive program that:
  • Encourages all students to develop a high school and post-secondary education plan based on their own interests, talents and skills.
  • Provides career awareness through guidance lessons, career inventories, career technical classes and guest speakers.
  • In partnership with the Irvine Unified School District, parents, or guardians, and the community, supports students to become active learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of society.

The counseling staff supports all students regardless of sex, sexual orientation, gender, ethnic group identification, race ancestry, national origin, religion, color, or mental or physical disability.

Who Is My School Counselor

Counselors are assigned students based on alphabet. Your counselor is determined by the first letter of your last name. Contact and caseload information can be found here.

School Counselor Availability

Counselors are available to see students on a walk in basis before school, during snack, lunch, or office hours, and after school. Students can make an appointment to see their counselor by seeing the counseling secretary.
